Kendra reference sheet

I created this page to explore my main character kendra from my pilot. I focused on her expressions and poses as that would communicate her personality. I also took the time to explore hairstyles and how she would move around in her equipment, especially that prosthetic leg. My favorite part was exploring how she would run or which leg she would kick with.

I took advantage of the turnaround to explore some armor variations.

Mutant explorations

When creating this antagonist for my pilot I wanted to show that this creature still had some ability for intelligence. I wanted to show that through props and clothes. Despite this creature having lost most of its ability to emote and nearly all human qualities, it still wore earrings, clothes, and jewelry.

Character lineup

I created this character lineup while exploring how I could create similarities between clothing styles of similar colors. I wanted to treat each color as its own ethnicity and create styles and patterns that would be common among the groups of color. I stuck mainly to a monochromatic color palette for each character save for some complimentary accents.

Freelance character design

I created this character Because I had an idea for a deer who had shaven areas for tattoos. I then took the time to explore how her head would look in 3d space and played around with how the ears could aid in expressions.

The other three pieces are head shots I did at the same time in a similar style as profile avatar commissions.

All three of them represent a turning point in my rendering style.

A-13 to Unlucky13

I created this character with transformation in mind. I could use shape language to communicate a clumsy accounting robot, A-13, and how I could change that shape language to show that change in character. Turning into Unlucky13 the battle ring robot.
